How do FileCraft Light and Pro differ?+
FileCraft Light is free and supports reading, searching, filling in and saving supported forms. FileCraft Pro adds editing, form design, OCR, automation, collaboration and the other document tools.
What does collaboration in FileCraft Pro mean?+
Review documents, reply to comments and mark items as resolved. FileCraft Pro keeps annotations, replies and their status with the document so that the next person can pick up a clear review trail.
What can I edit in a PDF?+
FileCraft adds your own text, images, shapes and annotations and edits existing text and image objects in supported PDFs. Missing fonts and unsupported object structures are shown to keep changes transparent.
Which forms does FileCraft support?+
FileCraft uses standard AcroForm: text fields, checkboxes, radio groups, dropdowns, lists, date and number fields, plus further form actions and signature fields. Dynamic XFA forms are detected separately; full XFA support is outside the AcroForm workflow.
Do form rules work in other PDF applications?+
FileCraft distinguishes local validation rules from features supported in the exported PDF. Values, options and supported field functions are preserved; external viewers may handle rules, tab order and calculations differently.
Do I need an account or the cloud?+
Core features run locally on your Mac without an account. External signing services or other optional connections are used only when you explicitly enable them.
Is a visible signature a certificate signature?+
A drawn or imported signature is a visible element. A certificate signature is a separate digital signing and verification process. FileCraft distinguishes the two and shows how changes affect existing signatures.
How is my original file protected?+
Work on a document state and export the result as a new file. Undo/redo, automatic local backups and recovery support your workflow; output checks prevent an incomplete export from being reported as successful.
